KYOTO TANGO
KYOTO TANGO is a Danish jewellery brand founded in 2016 by Ann Sophie von Bülow, defined by its precise orchestration of colour, craft, and cultural memory. What began as an intuitive exploration of mineral hues evolved into the original KYOTO TANGO bracelet—recognised worldwide for its distinctive chromatic eye-catching compositions.

ABOUT
Ann Sophie von Bülow
Ann Sophie was born and raised in freetown Christiania, and holds a Masters in Fine Arts from the prestigious Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. The KYOTO TANGO bracelet translates her fine art principles into wearable form that becomes a personal statement that carries more color into our world.

About
Christiania
Ann Sophie’s origin and birthplace is a place where no single narrative prevails. What appears improvised to some reveals structure to others; what seems fragile can prove enduring. Christiania has long resisted fixed conclusions. Like honey described assweet by one and bitter by another, it exists in plural readings at once—utopia and experiment, resistance and community, softness and resolve. From this field of variation, KYOTO TANGO emerged: shaped by contrast, attuned to difference, and grounded in the understanding that meaning is never singular but composed—layer by layer—through perception, proximity, and lived experience.

About
The Bracelet
The original KYOTO TANGO bracelet is designed and handmade in Denmark using carefully selected materials of exceptional quality. From casting to assembly, each piece is made to endure beyond trends, balancing material integrity and craftmanship. This jewellery is defined by an understanding of color as a non-verbal language, that blurs the line between fine arts and craft. Production is local and limited ensuring unnecessary transportation, packaging and overproduction. KYOTO TANGO is a guaranteed high quality iconic design made to last.

About
Color
For Ann Sophie, color speaks directly to the senses and the soul and is perceived with the body and soul. She moved through art school thinking in words, yet she remembered in tones. Color seemed to speak outside language, and change from moment to moment, from one perception to another. In developing her color sense, she had to move back in time, to the roots of the freetown Christiania- travels on the hippie trail, bringing back spices, textiles and images of a distant world, through her 10 years of Waldorf schooling rooted in Goethe’s color science, and her inner visions from meditations and yoga. Moving backwards from art theory to her baby bottle filled with green tea, plant-based milk and honey, she has developed an unseen color narrative translated into the original KYOTO TANGO bracelet and beyond.
