Terms and Conditions

In force from 29 October 2026. The terms that apply to an order are those in force on the date the order is placed. For customers living in France, the French version prevails.

2. Scope

These Terms and Conditions apply to all sales of products on kyototango.com between KYOTO TANGO and a consumer (“the Customer”). The Customer accepts these terms before placing an order. They are available on the website at all times and can be saved and printed.

3. Products

KYOTO TANGO bracelets are designed and handmade in Denmark from resin, pigments and minerals, some with beads in 24 carat gold or 999 fine silver. The essential characteristics of each product are shown on its product page. As each piece is handmade, small variations in colour and shape may occur; these are part of the craft and are not a defect. Colours may look different depending on your screen. Products are available while stocks last.

4. Prices

Prices are in the currency shown at checkout and include VAT. Delivery costs are shown before the order is confirmed and added to the total. The price that applies is the one shown when the order is placed. When a price reduction is announced, the reference price is the lowest price applied by KYOTO TANGO in the 30 days before the reduction.

5. Orders

The Customer selects products, checks the basket, enters contact and delivery details, chooses a payment method and accepts these terms. Before confirming, the Customer can review the order and correct any errors. The contract is concluded when the Customer clicks the button that clearly indicates the obligation to pay. KYOTO TANGO then sends an order confirmation by email, including these terms and the model cancellation form. KYOTO TANGO may refuse or cancel an order in case of an existing dispute, non-payment or an obvious pricing error; any amount paid is then refunded.

6. Payment

Payment is made online when ordering, with the payment methods offered at checkout. Payments are handled by secure payment providers. KYOTO TANGO does not have access to the Customer’s card details.

7. Delivery

Products are shipped from Denmark with GLS, DAO or UPS. UPS may require a signature on delivery. Delivery is free on orders over 600 DKK in Denmark and over €150 in the EU and Norway; otherwise, delivery costs are shown before the order is confirmed. Standard delivery times are shown on our Shipping & Delivery page and before the order is confirmed. Unless otherwise stated, delivery takes place no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. If delivery is late, the Customer may set a reasonable additional period; if the products are not delivered within it, the Customer may terminate the contract and receive a full refund within 14 days. The risk passes to the Customer when the Customer takes physical possession of the products.

8. Right of withdrawal (cancellation)

The Customer has 14 days to cancel the contract, without giving any reason. The period runs from the day the Customer, or a third party other than the carrier designated by the Customer, receives the products; for several products delivered separately, from receipt of the last one.

To cancel, the Customer informs KYOTO TANGO before the period ends:

  • using the online cancellation function “Cancel order” at the bottom of every page of the website; or
  • by sending the model cancellation form below, or any other clear statement, to hello@kyototango.com or by post to the address in section 1.

When the online function is used, KYOTO TANGO sends an acknowledgement by email without delay.

Returning the products. The Customer sends the products back to the address provided by KYOTO TANGO without undue delay and no later than 14 days after giving notice of cancellation. The direct cost of returning the products is paid by the Customer.

Refund. KYOTO TANGO refunds all payments received, including the cost of standard delivery, no later than 14 days after being informed of the cancellation. Extra costs from an expressly chosen delivery option more expensive than standard delivery are not refunded. KYOTO TANGO may withhold the refund until the products have been received or the Customer has supplied proof of having sent them back, whichever is earlier. The refund is made with the same payment method used for the order, unless the Customer expressly agrees otherwise, at no cost to the Customer.

Condition of the products. The Customer may handle the products as in a shop to examine them, and is only liable for any loss in value resulting from other handling. Please return the products in their original packaging to protect them in transit.

For orders placed between 3 November 2026 and 31 December 2026, the return period is extended until 11 January 2027. This extension is in addition to the legal right of withdrawal.

9. Legal guarantees

KYOTO TANGO is bound by the legal guarantee of conformity and, for customers in France, by the legal guarantee against hidden defects (articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code). The Customer has two years from delivery to claim under the legal guarantee of conformity if a defect appears, and only needs to show that the defect exists, not when it appeared. The Customer is entitled to repair or replacement within 30 days, free of charge. If this is refused, delayed beyond 30 days, causes major inconvenience or does not work, the Customer may obtain a price reduction or terminate the contract with a full refund against return of the product. For customers in France, the full statutory text of the legal guarantees is set out in the French version of these terms. To make a claim, the Customer contacts hello@kyototango.com with the order number, a description and, if possible, photos. KYOTO TANGO pays the cost of returning a faulty product.

10. KYOTO TANGO commercial guarantee

In addition to, and without affecting, the legal guarantees, KYOTO TANGO offers a free commercial guarantee on all bracelets bought on kyototango.com:

  • Content: cleaning, re-threading and repair by the KYOTO TANGO studio, including for normal wear.
  • Duration: two years from delivery.
  • Territory: all countries the website delivers to.
  • Guarantor: KYOTO TANGO, at the address in section 1.
  • How to claim: email hello@kyototango.com with the order number, photos and a short description.
  • Exclusions: loss of the bracelet, deliberate damage.

After this period, KYOTO TANGO still offers these services, possibly for a fee that is quoted before any work is done. Products bought from a retailer are covered by that retailer’s terms.

11. Customer service

The Customer can contact KYOTO TANGO by email at hello@kyototango.com, by WhatsApp on +45 29 25 87 48, or by post at the address in section 1. KYOTO TANGO aims to reply as soon as possible.

12. Dispute resolution

If a dispute is not resolved after a written complaint to KYOTO TANGO, the Customer may use a consumer dispute resolution body free of charge: Nævnenes Hus – Forbrugerklagenævnet, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark, www.naevneneshus.dk. Customers living in another EU country can also get help from their European Consumer Centre. The Customer may always bring the matter before the competent court.

13. Liability

KYOTO TANGO is responsible for the proper performance of its obligations under the law. It is not liable in case of force majeure or where the problem is caused by the Customer. Nothing in these terms limits the Customer’s mandatory legal rights.

14. Personal data

KUNSTNERNES KOOPERATIVE ApS is the data controller for personal data collected when ordering. The data is used to process orders, deliver them, provide customer service and meet legal obligations. See our privacy policy for more information, including your rights.

15. Intellectual property

The KYOTO TANGO brand, designs, photographs, texts and graphics on the website are protected by intellectual property law. Reproduction without prior written permission is not allowed.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Danish law. This choice does not deprive the Customer of the protection given by the mandatory rules of the law of the country where the Customer lives. In case of dispute, the Customer may bring proceedings before the courts where the Customer lives or where KYOTO TANGO has its registered office.
